Half Crappy Sunday!

When I got up this morning, there were no signs of a headache anymore, but my stomach still didn't feel all that right. I had breakfast and got ready for church. My mom picked me up, and I found a place to sit while she parked. Church has been soooo packed since we merged with another parish. It's unreal how many people show up now! However, it's cold season. Not literally just cold, but people are sick all around me. I felt paranoid during mass. I only shook hands during peace with my mom and one other person. I keep forgetting to bring antibacterial sanitizer to use after peace!!! But not only that, people are hacking all around me and sneezing. Not everyone covers their noses or mouths, either. I feel like taking the fall/winter off from going to church. I never used to be this paranoid about it, but after having to stop going to church from December to almost April last year because I was recovering from pneumonia, the idea doesn't sound too far fetched!! My mom dro

Crappy Saturday

I have felt like crap all day long. It actually started last night. When I got home last night from dinner with my parents and Joanie, I took a bath, got my pjs on, put the oxygen on, and settled on the couch for a few hours watching tv and chatting with phriends. I started getting a bad headache, and by the time I went to bed, I felt awful. I didn't take anything, mainly because I knew the Excedrin would keep me awake. So I went to add water to the bubbler on my oxygen machine, and realized I didn't turn it on!! What a DUH moment!!! I figured that was why I had the headache, and thought that I would probably feel better when I got up in the morning. Wrong!! I woke up at 4am because something fell upstairs, and I realized I still had a slight headache. It wasn't enough to get me to go take something for it, and I really regret that decision. When I got up again at 7am to take Revatio, I finally made myself take a Tylenol, since I also had some leg pain. That did help a bit,

Irritated

My mom told me earlier today that she and my dad are probably going to go down to Lisa's for Thanksgiving next month. It took me a little by surprise. I think it's nice they want to go. My dad is probably agreeing to go now since the weather will hopefully not be so bad yet. After my mom told me they were probably going, I was waiting for her to ask if I'd like to go. But all she said was that maybe, if I'm willing, I could work for her for the 2 days she will be gone. She spends about 4 hours 3 days a week with an elderly lady during the week, and she basically doesn't do anything much with her. Well anyway, it was just assumed that I wouldn't go down there, too. And honestly, I am not even sure about going. It is so hard this time of year to make plans even a week ahead. Right now I feel like I'm battling a cold that hasn't quite decided to come out yet, and who knows how the heck I'd feel by the end of November. The traveling is also something I

Some Updating!

I don't even know where to begin. I know I haven't posted much new in a bit. I guess I'll start with my support group meeting that I had this past Saturday. It went well, despite the fact that we had to make a last minute topic change! I had 2 speakers, an RN from my local PH doctor's office, and a pharmacist from Accredo. The topic was supposed to be about PH meds, and possible interactions from other meds we might take for other things. The pharmacist had a family emergency, so he wasn't able to come. The RN still spoke, but she did a slide presentation on PH, causes, diagnosis, treatments, etc. It was a good presentation, but it was quick! She spent 1o minutes going through the slides, and then asked if anyone had questions, but no one did. I looked at my watch and realized we had at least an hour to go! So, when she was done, I just got up again and thanked her, and decided to have everyone introduce themselves, tell when they were diagnosed, and what treatments

New Bag!

Image
Last weekend after my flu shot, I went shopping! I finished buying Christmas gifts for the kids (yes, that wasn't a typo!), and then I went to Target to look for something to use my gift card with from Mandy. I wanted a new bag, so I looked, and found one I loved! I got funny looks from a few people because I had the new bag on the floor, trying to put my oxygen tank in it to see if it fit. It did! It's got so many pockets and such, I don't know what to do with them all!! And, it also has a laptop sleeve in it, so if I decide to bring my laptop anywhere, I can just fit it in the sleeve, and I'm good to go. Now I don't have to buy one of those, either!! So, thanks Mandy! I love my new bag!

New Housemate!

My new housemate, Diane, and her doggy, Frasier, have moved in. They started last Tuesday, moved more stuff in on Thursday, and then finished moving everything else in on Friday. She's been staying here since. She is a nice lady. I've known her for many years, even though it's been a few years since I've seen her. She is a complete animal lover, which will help if I have to go anywhere and I need someone to check in on Mittens. So far I've had no problems with her (I know, it's not even been a week since she's been here lol), but I was sad when she said she didn't want to split the cable modem or Dish bill. Darn it all! I was hoping to save $40 a month to put on my credit card, which drastically needs to disappear. I mentioned it twice, but there's not much I can do if she isn't interested. At least we get to split the water bill! That's a little bit of savings! Diane left on Saturday afternoon around 2:30pm for a wedding reception. She got

Scenery On The Way To Grandma's

Image
My Grandma lives in a small town called Horseheads, NY. When I tell most people where she is from, well at least people who already live in NY, I say Elmira area immediately after I say Horseheads, since it's such a little place and people look at me like I'm crazy when I say it. lol The drive is around 3 hours, and the closer you get to Horseheads, the more beautiful the landscape is. If we had gone down even two weeks from now, all the hills would have been gorgeous colors of golds, oranges, reds and browns, instead of mostly green. I could see that colors were starting to change already, but not enough yet! I decided to take pictures of some of the hills, since I always admire them while driving, and since I was bored!! The clouds were really cool on the trip down there Friday! More clouds, yes, I was clicking away with my camera. lol Hilly scenery, looks like farm land! More scenery! Green hills!! Two weeks from now it would be all sorts of colors!!

Exhaustion!!

Ok, I know I've been home since Sunday afternoon, but I've just been too tired to post any thoughts. My weekend was nice, but exhausting. I just didn't get great sleep, and I had already been really tired the few days before we left. The weather change here isn't helping much, I usually get really tired when the seasons change. It drives me nuts!! But the lack of sleep didn't help either, and I'm still dragging. I slept in until almost 10:30 this morning, and now it's after 12 and I still feel like I never slept. Grrrr!! Anyway, we left Friday morning-ish, and had a pretty good trip. Shelby got to come, which I totally forgot about since there wasn't anyone to really take care of her while we were gone. She was good, though! My parents gave her a tranquilizer before leaving, but it never really worked. However, the most she whined on the entire trip down there was when my parents drove down the street to pick me up. LOL We stopped a couple times on the

Just A Few Words....

I'm getting ready to go to bed, but I thought I'd post that today was Mittens' birthday! Now, technically, I don't know if Oct. 2nd was his actual day of birth, but when I got him on Dec. 2nd 2000, he was 2 months old. Sooooo, I thought I'd pick Oct. 2nd as his birthday so I could remember it! lol Yes, he is 8 years old. My little man is growing up!! He had a good day. I gave him catnip this morning so he could get stoned while I went to rehab. LOL! He napped for the afternoon. He played while I was making bread. He napped again in the papasan chair. He got to sit in my nap a few times, and even tried to sit on the laptop! However, then he tried to bite me. And he got punished on his birthday!!! He was soooooo close to having a perfect day!!! Well I'm pretty much packed and ready to go tomorrow for the weekend. I just have a few last minute things to throw into the luggage, and I'm good to go. I hope! I've been so tired the past few days, with the we

Wardrobe Change

Well today I spent quite some time changing over to my fall/winter wardrobe. I hate that! I'd rather be changing from winter to spring/summer. lol Obviously there's not much I can do about that, so I sucked it up and went through what I had and put everything away. I seriously need the hope chest that I STILL don't have (even though my mom wrote on my birthday card that they owe me one hope chest next week....."next week" was last week. lol) because I was stuffing sweaters and long sleeved shirts in the drawers, and I can only hope to get them open again! My winter stuff has always had a problem fitting in my dresser. If I could afford a new dresser, I still don't think that would help! But at least everything is out. I also put a LOT of summer stuff in the donation pile. I now have 3 bags of clothes to give away, and I need to do that soon. I'm sure someone could use my stuff. I did exercise before the wardrobe exchange, and then the o2 guy came. I also p
