Smoke!

My aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins came up today so that my uncle could play in a poker tournament at the casino. I wanted to know what they were doing for dinner, and they said they were going to meet my uncle at the casino for dinner at the buffet. It's been several years since I've been inside the casino, so I wanted to go, too. While I had fun at dinner, and the food was extremely good, the worst thing was the smoke in the entire building. It was disgusting! The casino is run by the Seneca Indians, and the land is considered theirs. So, being they it's Indian property, they do not have to follow NY state No Smoking laws in restaurants and public places. It's so disheartening to know that I'll probably never go there again because my lungs just couldn't tolerate it. I also can't believe that smoke didn't bother me that much way back in the day when I used to frequent the local bars every weekend. Being that I've been on oxygen for almost 10 years, my lungs can tell there's smoke somewhere a mile away! YUCK!!!

The casino here is drenched in smoke, too. I like the restaurant there, but I have to walk through the entire casino to get to the restaurant; thus, I don't go often.

I can't imagine the damage that is being done to the employees' lungs at these places.

Funny, I think that our senses are so much better now. maybe a plus of PH. can smell smoke and things for a mile, Manny says..LOL

The Ideal Day

Once again, it's that time of month for dear Judi's Artsy Essay Contest! Please see the rules and regulations for this month here . Lost

Growing up with pulmonary hypertension and congenital heart disease was sometimes lonely, because there wasn't anyone around me who felt the same way I did physically. No one had to stay out of gym because they got too tired and too short of breath like I did on a constant basis. No one had to wear a holter monitor like the one time I had to in 4th grade. Talk about trying to play mum ball in class, all you could hear was the monitor thing making noise. Although I could always go to sports games, I wasn't able to participate in any type of sport, because again, it was just physically way too much for my body to handle.
