A Little Bit Of Summer

Several weeks ago, we had some beautiful summer-like weather, despite the fact it was almost the end of October, and sometimes we get snow by then! The one day when the o2 guy was here, I had a few ladybugs come into the house. We got a couple out, but over the next few weeks, I've noticed one that has been lingering around. I don't know why, but I find this little bug comforting. I've seen it on the curtains in my living room, then a few days later it was hanging out on the kitchen light. A week after that, I happened to spot it in a place I never thought I'd see it, on a very small bottle of orange Vodka Stoli that I've had forever on my kitchen windowsill! This little ladybug was just hanging out in the sun that was coming in through the window.

Just when I thought that the little ladybug had probably escaped somehow or met it's demise in my apartment somewhere, I saw Mittens going nuts one night while I was making jewelry. Since I always have my earphones on, I usually can't hear anything, but I know something is up when he acts nutty! He was staring up at the light in the jewelry room, so I looked up there, and lo and behold, there was my ladybug friend! I was really surprised to see it, and it just brought a smile to my face to know it was still around. I will really be shocked if I happen to find it again somewhere else. How long do ladybugs live in a house if they aren't able to get out?? By the way, the ladybug was on the inside of the light, where the bulbs are, so I just aimed the camera and hoped for the best. LOL

What a fun post, and I love your photos of your new roommate. I hope she stays with you all winter.

What do Ladybugs eat?

I've enjoyed your PH Awareness posts: I've learned something new with each one.
